Front page/Portal

Note: You may click on all pictures to enlarge them.

The front page is a Portal. This is kinda like My Yahoo, My MSN, My AOL. or exec. It's purpose is to give you a quick glance on what is going on in the site.

Blocks:

Each section in the Portal is called blocks. These are pretty much self explanatory but I will explain a couple of them to make sure you get the idea.

Association Announcements

This block shows the latest Association news or upcoming events.

Last 10 Post

This block shows the Last Post/Topics started on the message board. This allows you to see me most recent topics and if you see something you are interested in then you can click on it and it will take you directly to that topic.

Main Menu

This block just has quick links to different parts of the site.

Home: This just refreshes the Portal

Forum: Takes you to the main page of the message board.

All the rest are just quick links to to different categories on the message board.

Forum/Message Board

A Forum is a Message Board. It allows you to share information with others. In this case, it allows the Association to share news and upcoming events with you. The forum also allows people to share information with other people around the lake. Some examples might be, say you hare having a yard sale, or you want to have some sort of get together, or maybe you caught a fish you are proud of and you want to post pictures of it. you can do it on this message board.

Quick Links:

These are just links that take you to different parts of the site. PORTAL tales you back to the portal,  HOME refreshes the page, and exec. There is also a link to help files that you may want to take a look at.

Categories

Categories organize information to make it easier for people to find what they want. Make sure if you start a topic, you put it in the proper category to people can find it easier.

Note: The categories in the Association section you may read but only the Association is allowed to start topics or make post in this section.
